Has anybody ever calculated how much power we would actually be making with parasistic drag? (Is that what it is called) Tubo guys are putting down obscene amounts of power with 7 and 8psi (Turbo Mafia) but we 8psi SC guys are still like 30hp behind. I think I read somewhere that our SC are sapping the equivalent of 3 A/C compressors
How true this is I don't know but just wondering.

I hear that we're losing 15 WHP at the top because of the belt driven part and the fact that we don't have an intercooler (which makes HP) also makes them generate more power.

Couldnt we avoid this problem, or negate it if we used a smaller diameter, lighter weight crank pully? And also, a smaller/lighter AC and Power steering pulley? Of course they crank pulley would have to be custom made so that we know exactly what boost levels we are going to run

The drag isn't the pulley it's the supercharger.
I would trade 15 whp for the instant street drivable power though any day.
Food for though.
If we can properly tune the tip in, such that the car DOESN'T lean out, imagine the power response at tip it that is possible! Now that's a supercharger. Cause remember power is only as good a the fuel that burns.

Unorthodox is working on some pulley sets specifically designed for the JR Supercharger !!! They should be ready in May or June.
As for a smaller crank pulley... NO -- DO NOT DO THIS !!! It will slow down the JR blower, so you will lose boost !!!
Lundgren is right... the car's throttle response is sharper with a lightweight crank pulley... I had one on my car when it was N/A, and I was running 13.90's then !!!

Doesn't Unorthodox Racing make an underdrive crank pulley for supercharged cars?
I used to have a UO pulley until the JRSC, and I remember reading on their website that they were planning on making aluminum crank pulleys that drove the alternator at the stock rate, but underdrove the PS and AC. (They also make a pulley that has NO drive for PS and AC, only the Alt.)
